According to news reviews within the Italian press, a practice struck employees conducting upkeep on the Torino-Milano railway line close to the Brandizzo Station final night time. In the accident, 5 employees misplaced their lives.

The accident occurred as railway employees have been conducting monitor upkeep and renewal on platform 1, and it was decided that the practice was touring at a velocity of 160 kilometers per hour in the intervening time of the accident.
