Former Russian military commander arrested in Moscow

Former Russian army commander Igor Girkin, who served as a commander in Russian-controlled areas of Donbas in jap Ukraine in 2014, has been arrested in Moscow on costs of extremism.

Girkin, who makes use of the pseudonym Strelkov on social media platforms, was detained on Friday, in response to his lawyer Aleksandr Molokhov and spouse Miroslava Reginskaya.

Girkin appeared on the Meshchansky Court in Moscow Friday night, which despatched him to a pre-trial detention middle for 2 months.
