German missiles arrive in Lithuania to protect NATO summit

Germany has begun deploying Patriot air defence techniques in Lithuania to assist safe the NATO summit there in slightly below two weeks, the Baltic nation’s armed forces mentioned on Thursday.

Photographs printed by the EU member state confirmed a German military convoy coming into the Lithuanian capital Vilnius.

The top-level assembly of the Western army alliance will happen there on July 11 and 12. Lithuania borders the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad and Russia’s shut ally Belarus.

According to the Lithuanian military, that is the primary deployment of Patriot missiles within the nation. The system can be operated by German troopers.

The German Defence Ministry has mentioned the deployment is being carried out on the request of NATO and in shut session with Lithuania.

Germany may even contribute land-, air- and sea-based capabilities to safe the NATO summit, in response to an announcement on the finish of May.
