The International Court of Justice (ICJ) Wednesday introduced it had obtained 15 written feedback on the authorized penalties of Israeli insurance policies and practices within the occupied Palestinian territories, together with East Jerusalem, and that the World Court’s public hearings are set to begin subsequent Feb. 19 in The Hague.
In a press release cited by the official Palestinian news company Wafa, the courtroom mentioned 14 written feedback have been submitted by the Oct. 25 deadline from Jordan, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Qatar, Belize, Bangladesh, Palestine, the United States, Indonesia, Chile, the Arab League, Egypt, Algeria, Guatemala and Namibia.
In addition, the courtroom accredited a late submitting from Pakistan on Nov. 2 to be included.
Last December, the U.N. General Assembly handed a decision looking for the World Court’s opinion on the authorized penalties of Israel’s unlawful occupation of Palestinian territories.
The decision handed 87-26 with 53 abstentions.
Around 666,000 settlers dwell in 145 settlements and 140 random outposts (not licensed by the Israeli authorities) within the occupied West Bank, together with East Jerusalem, in accordance with the Israeli nongovernmental group (NGO) Peace Now.
Under worldwide regulation, all Jewish settlements within the occupied territories are thought of unlawful.
The U.N. has reported that since Hamas’ Oct. 7 assault on Israel, 820 Palestinians have been displaced within the West Bank, and assaults by Israeli settlers have elevated from a mean of three to seven per day.
Since Oct. 7, greater than 400 assaults have been carried out within the area, ensuing within the killing of 9 Palestinians.
