Iran, Saudi Arabia agree to restore ties severed in 2016

Iran and Saudi Arabia have agreed to revive ties severed in 2016 and to reopen respective diplomatic missions, state media within the Islamic republic stated Friday.

“Following talks, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have agreed to resume diplomatic relations and reopen embassies and missions within two months,” the official IRNA news company stated, citing a joint assertion. There was no rapid affirmation from the Saudi aspect.
