Former Chancellor Angela Merkel apparently foregoes any particular luxuries on the airplane when she travels on trip. This emerges from a report within the newspaper “Bild”. Accordingly, Merkel flew along with her husband Joachim Sauer on trip to the Canary Island of Fuerteventura – and spent the flight in economic system class.
According to “Bild”, the airplane was an Airbus 320-200 from the airline Eurowings. As is common for the so-called picket class, the airplane has three tightly packed seats on each side of the aisle.
