The design planning for the orbital station shall be accomplished by the top of 2023, Vladimir Kozhevnikov advised the state news company TASS.

Earlier, issues with one other Roskosmos house transporter had emerged. Roskosmos is the Russian state-owned firm accountable for house flights, cosmonaut programmes and aerospace analysis.

The Progress MS-21 house freighter, which has been connected to the ISS since October, has a leak, as there’s a stress drop within the cooling system.

The drawback has not affected operations, in response to the top of the Russian-manned house programme, Sergei Krikalev. He stated on the weekend that the work of the ISS crew and the Progress MS-21 had already been accomplished.

“The situation is similar in some respects to what happened to the manned space shuttle Soyuz MS-22 in mid-December,” Krikalev admitted.

An issue with the Soyuz MS-22 meant that the house capsule couldn’t be cooled sufficiently. In order to not endanger the cosmonauts, Roskosmos determined to ship the shuttle again to earth unmanned and produce the house travellers again with a successor ship, the Soyuz MS-23, as a substitute.

Moscow, in the meantime, is sticking to its plans for its personal house station, partly on account of tensions with its Western companions on account of Russia’s battle in opposition to Ukraine.

The first module is to be constructed by the top of 2027. In the long run, house launches won’t begin from Baikonur in Kazakhstan, however from the brand new Russian spaceport, Vostochny Cosmodrome, within the Far East.
