Northern Cyprus to head to polls on Sunday for by-election

Voters within the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will head to the polls on Sunday for a by-election because of the resignation of 1 deputy from the 50-seat parliament.

The by-election can be held to decide on a deputy to signify the nation’s capital Lefkosa because of the resignation of Kudret Özersay, head of the People’s Party.

Voting will begin at 8 a.m. native time and can finish at 6 p.m. native time, the Supreme Election Board stated in an announcement.

Six get together candidates and 7 unbiased candidates will run within the by-election.

The TRNC has some 210,000 registered voters.
