A 53-year-old girl was killed on Sunday morning after Russian forces shelled an house constructing within the southeastern Ukrainian metropolis of Nikopol, the regional governor stated.

Lysak added that an 87-year-old girl was additionally wounded within the assault, which he described as an artillery strike.

Nikopol sits throughout the Dnipro River from the Zaporizhzhia nuclear energy plant, which has been occupied by Russian forces since shortly after they invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24.
