Bulgaria has been hit by storms forward of the newest heatwave set to hit the nation.
Heavy winds, rainstorms and hailstorms ravaged the north-west of the Balkan nation on Sunday evening, based on studies in Bulgarian media. Roofs had been broken in a number of cities and fallen timber blocked roads or broken parked vehicles.
Firefighters and volunteers cleared the freeway resulting in the Vrška Chuka border crossing to Serbia.
After a number of sizzling days with temperatures reaching about 40 levels, the storms introduced some cooler climate to northern Bulgaria.
It is just not the one nation battling heatwaves, with Italy and Spain experiencing sweltering temperatures and Greece battling wildfires attributable to sizzling, dry climate.
But for the southern areas of Bulgaria, warmth warnings remained in impact on Sunday. In areas alongside the border with Greece, temperatures of as much as 38 levels had been anticipated.
According to Bulgarian meteorologists, one other heatwave is anticipated within the coming days with temperatures forecast to rise above 40 levels.
