A Russian navy airplane crashed throughout a coaching flight whereas flying over the Kamchatka Peninsula off the Pacific Ocean on Tuesday.
The Russian navy stated that the MiG-31 fell into Avacha Bay on the southeastern coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula. It stated that rescue groups have been trying to find its two crew members.
The navy stated the plane was not carrying weapons. It didn’t instantly supply any additional element or say what could have induced the crash.
The MiG-31 is a twin-engine, two-seat supersonic fighter designed to intercept enemy planes and cruise missiles at lengthy ranges. It has been in service with the Soviet and Russian air forces for the reason that Eighties.
