The West was “thoroughly” making ready “provocation” in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated Saturday.
“The non-partners were preparing thoroughly, worked out the provocation in detail, fanning the flames of the conflict,” Zakharova stated in response to feedback by the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who stated on the Munich Security Conference that the West was making ready sanctions towards Russia a number of months earlier than Moscow began its “special military operation” in Ukraine.
Zakharova stated the EU had plans to impose sanctions “at the suggestion of the US” on the finish of 2021 “for facilitating the deployment of troops on the territory of Ukraine.”
Earlier Zakharova and Russian authorities repeated that Ukraine is a instrument within the West’s arms and Russia was deliberately pushed into the battle with its neighbor in order that the U.S. and its NATO allies may have the pretext to impose financial sanctions on Moscow and use different stress strategies.
