Russian jet crashes during training flight: ministry

A Russian Su-24 fight jet has crashed throughout a coaching flight within the Volgograd area, round 400 kilometres (250 miles) east of the border with Ukraine, the defence ministry mentioned Tuesday.

The ministry didn’t say if the pilot survived, including solely that rescue helicopters had been dispatched to the location.

“A Su-24 plane crashed in the Volgograd region during a programmed training flight,” Russian press companies quoted the ministry as saying, including that the airplane was not carrying weapons and hit the bottom in an uninhabited space.

The Russian navy has seen a number of lethal crashes because the launch of the Ukraine offensive in February 2022.

In July, a pilot was killed in a coaching flight crash over the Azov Sea, not removed from Ukraine, and in October 2022, 15 folks have been killed when an Su-34 slammed right into a block of flats within the Russian city of Yeysk close to Ukraine.
