Russias Shoigu inspects nuclear submarine modernisation in Far East

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu checked on the restore and modernisation of the Pacific Fleet’s nuclear submarines at a prime army shipyard on Friday, his ministry stated.

Shoigu earlier this week took half in talks between President Vladimir Putin and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un who visited two aviation crops within the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur on Friday.

Shoigu checked building of a floating docking complicated and on how nuclear submarines are being repaired and modernized at Zvezda plant within the city of Bolshoi Kamen, the defence ministry stated in assertion.

It added that Zvezda is the main submarine restore facility of Russia’s Pacific Fleet and the one one within the Far East specialising in restore and modernization of nuclear-powered submarine missile carriers.

“Sergei Shoigu demanded the maximum use of Zvezda’s production facilities in order to complete the repair and modernisation of submarines,” the defence ministry stated.

Shoigu additionally visited the Progress plant within the city of Arsenyev which produces Ka-52 army helicopters.

He burdened the significance of enhancing fight capabilities of Ka-52M helicopters and safety of their pilots.

“The combat capabilities of Ka-52M helicopters need to be improved, and the pilots’ protection needs to be increased,” Interfax news company quoted Shoigu.
