South Korea hopes Irans frozen funds will be resolved smoothly

South Korea’s overseas ministry mentioned on Friday that it hopes the problem of Iranian frozen funds might be resolved easily.

The ministry mentioned it had no data concerning media reviews that Iran could free 5 detained U.S. residents as a part of a deal underneath which $6 billion in Iranian funds in South Korea could be unfrozen.

“Our government has been closely consulting with involved countries such as the United States and Iran to resolve the frozen fund issue, and hopes that the issue will be resolved amicably,” the ministry mentioned in an announcement.
