A powerful magnitude 5.4 earthquake jolted Azerbaijan late Monday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center mentioned.
The earthquake, with a magnitude of 5.4, occurred at a depth of 35 kilometers (roughly 21.75 miles) and was centered 46 kilometers (round 28.6 miles) off the coast of Khachmaz province within the Caspian Sea.
The tremor was felt within the capital, Baku, in addition to in another close by areas. However, there are not any dangers of a tsunami following the earthquake.
According to the preliminary estimates, there are not any casualties reported to this point.
