Tugboat sinks after colliding with oil tanker in Suez Canal

A tugboat sank Saturday within the Suez Canal in Egypt after colliding with an oil tanker.

The head of the Suez Canal Administration, Osama Rabi, stated a Hong Kong-flagged tanker, Chinagas Legend, collided with a tugboat belonging to the canal administration on the 51 kilometer (32 mile) of the El-Belah area.

Rabi famous that the tanker was en path to the U.S. from Singapore.

He acknowledged efforts to carry the tugboat to the floor is ongoing with the assistance of a crane, and sea rescue groups have been despatched to the area to avoid wasting the seven-person crew.

Rabi additionally stated the tanker, which is 230 meters lengthy, 36 meters (755 toes) large and has a carrying capability of 52,000 tons, is being stored in Port Said Port for procedures associated to the accident.
