The tripartite mechanism conferences for NATO accession with Sweden and Finland have been canceled indefinitely.
According to Habertürk, the choice was taken on the request of Turkey.
Turkey signed a Triple Memorandum with Sweden and Finland, which objected to their participation in NATO on the grounds of “supporting terrorism”, and the Permanent Joint Mechanism established inside this framework held its first assembly in Helsinki, the capital of Finland.
