Turkish establishments and organizations have ready a reduction and rescue workforce comprising 265 people to be dispatched to Morocco to assist earthquake victims.

According to an announcement by the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) Saturday, a workforce of 265 people from AFAD, the Red Crescent, the National Medical Rescue affiliated with the Ministry of Health, and non-governmental organizations, is able to transfer to the area in case Morocco appeals for help.

The AFAD mentioned it’s awaiting a name from the Moroccan authorities to ship 1,000 tents to the area.

“We wish safety for the Moroccan people who were affected by the earthquake, and we are closely following developments,” the AFAD mentioned.

At least 1,037 individuals have been killed and 1,204 others injured following a strong earthquake that struck Morocco late Friday.

Fatalities from the magnitude 7.0 quake occurred in numerous areas, together with Al Haouz and Marrakesh provinces, in addition to the cities of Ouarzazate, Azilal, Chichaoua, and Taroudant, the nation’s Interior Ministry mentioned in an announcement.
