A Ukrainian man set himself on hearth exterior the Ukrainian Consulate in Poland’s southern Krakow metropolis, native media reported on Thursday.
The 63-year-old was standing in line on the consulate when he all of the sudden began shouting in Ukrainian, witnesses instructed native news shops.
According to radio station RMF FM, the person known as on his compatriots to return to Ukraine to battle Russian forces.
“He then poured a flammable substance on himself, set himself on fire, and ran ahead,” Piotr Szpiech, an officer of the Krakow police, instructed news outlet Onet.
Police officers, together with a bystander, managed to catch the person and extinguish the flames.
He was taken to a hospital in important situation, the report mentioned.
The man, whose identify has not been launched, is a Ukrainian citizen dwelling within the southeastern Lesser Poland area, a police official instructed Onet.
Witnesses are being questioned, however the motive for his self-immolation try remains to be unknown, the report added.
