Ukrainian troops advancing south after taking Robotyne, army says

The Ukrainian military says it’s persevering with to advance after breaking via the Russian defence line close to Robotyne, a settlement within the southern Zaporizhzhya area.

The subsequent goal for liberation is the close by village of Novoprokopivka, mentioned navy spokesman Oleksandr Shtupun.

Although the Russian air power is stepping up its assaults there, Shtupun interpreted this as an indication that the Russian floor forces now not have a lot to counter the Ukrainian advance.

The battlefield claims couldn’t be independently verified. But navy analysts agree that Robotyne was retaken after weeks of preventing and that Ukrainian forces are slowly pushing farther south.

Recapturing cities like Tokmak, and a farther advance on to Melitipol, would mark main wins in Kiev’s counteroffensive. Both cities in Zaporizhzhya have been occupied by Russian forces because the early days of Moscow’s full-scale invasion.

Ukraine ultimately goals to advance to the Sea of Azov and minimize off Russia’s land bridge to the Crimean Peninsula.

Elsewhere, Shtupun mentioned Ukraine was repelling assaults by Russian troops close to the cities of Avdiivka and Marinka within the jap Donetsk area.
